Silverette silver discs prevent and help heal cracked nipples. Since 2002, after a long phase of study and experimentation with mothers, neonatologists, midwives and pediatricians, Silverette O Original has been patented with a rounded shape to respect the shape of the nipple.
To meet the diverse needs of postpartum women, the Silverette Original has increased its diameter and is also available in an XL version. Silverette Original XL was created for mothers who have an areola (the circular area around the nipple) of at least 1.5 inches or larger. If this is your case, then choose this size. In this way, the XL model adheres perfectly to the breast, respecting the anatomical shape of the areola and nipple without creating any discomfort.
Features:
- Anatomical shape respects the shape of the nipple. Recommended for preventative use. Ideal for mothers who experience cracked nipples or other similar conditions. - They can be used indefinitely: there is no usage limit. Handmade in Italy - They do not contain nickel. - Classified as a Class 1 medical device – EC Directive 46/92 Law 5/02/34
Method of Use
After breastfeeding, place a drop of milk on the silver discs and attach them to the nipple like a suction cup. They should be worn under the bra. It is not necessary to wash your nipples before breastfeeding. However, if you feel your baby is uncomfortable with the smell of any milk residue, you can wash your nipples gently, without irritating them. You should not apply any type of cream to the silver. You can wear the silver nipple shields all day and remove them only for breastfeeding and showering. You should use them whenever you feel the need, as their regenerative properties are always active.
Cleaning and maintenance
Silverette silver discs may oxidize due to the natural oxidation process that silver undergoes, but this does not compromise the effectiveness or safety of the product in any way. To remove the oxidation, simply prepare a paste with water and baking soda, apply it to the entire surface of the discs, rinse well, and dry. You should not put any type of cream or hand sanitizer in contact with the silver as it will tarnish.
Note: Some manufacturers on the market sell silver discs as "pure 999 silver," but in reality, these are products made of another material and only silver-plated. Simply rubbing the disc with sandpaper will remove the core, often made of copper, to which many people are allergic.
