Medela Supplemental Nutrition System

The Supplemental Nutrition System (SNS) is the ideal way to administer supplemental nutrition to babies while they are being breastfed. The SNS aims to allow mothers to breastfeed when they are unable to do so otherwise, while also helping the baby practice sucking behavior.


It offers the following advantages:

- It facilitates bonding and skin-to-skin contact.
- Promotes milk production by stimulating the breast through sustained suckling.
- Supports non-lactating mothers, mothers with disabilities, same-sex and transgender parents, to create a breastfeeding/breastfeeding experience.
- Supports the oral development of the baby's sucking skills to create a vacuum.
- Provides milk supplementation without the use of bottles and nipples.
- It can be used when supplements are needed in addition to breast milk.
The tubes, which are very thin and flexible, are attached near the mother's nipples and release milk and additional supplements while the baby feeds.
